The Finnish housing fair, which has become a favourite summer destination for Estonians over the years, has been set up this time in charming seaside town of Loviisa, an hour’s drive from Helsinki.

The homes completed for the housing fair are built in an impressive location near the city center, by the water, in the middle of northern nature. Some lots have their own beach, and all homes have stunning views of the bay.

You can enter and look around in private houses, terraced houses, apartments and even in a house built on the water. Liven’s team did all that.

At the Loviisa housing fair, we noticed that:

1. the architecture blended pleasantly into the landscape
2. it was invested in expanding the living spaces outside (comfortably furnished and nicely landscaped loggias, balconies, terraces)
3. great emphasis was placed on various hobby and household rooms
4. depending on the location of the house and the views, the bedrooms were sometimes downstairs and the living and dining rooms on the upper floor
5. in the case of several houses by the sea, the sauna cabin was located separately from the main house
6. the interior decoration used a lot of wood, different and in different shades
7. black kitchen furniture was still quite popular, but also different shades of green
8. dining tables were often round, both small and large
9. faucets and shower sets saw a lot of gold and other metallic tones
10. the use of glass or light-transmitting bi-fold doors in the middle of homes added space and light to the rooms
