Pärle Raud

Sales Manager
Real Estate Broker (189393)

Pärle has been involved in real estate sales since 1997. During this time she has successfully sold hundreds of apartments. What Pärle enjoys most is being on the road – literally and figuratively. She is always up for a walk in nature, a motorbike ride exploring the big, wide world or studying something new. This keeps her senses keen and her mind fresh: as the saying goes, a rolling stone gathers no moss.

Pärle studied at the Tartu Teacher’s Seminar to become a music teacher, as well as theory of culture at the Estonian Humanitarian Institute and editing and reviewing of Estonian language at Tallinn University. She edits, reviews and publishes books as a hobby. Her extensive experience in real estate dates back to 1997, when she spent 11 years at Pindi Kinnisvara as a residential property broker and instructor to other brokers. For the next six years she dealt with sales of Skanska real estate projects. She still puts her heart and soul into this work, since she likes people as much as she does books.

Anita Karma

Interior Architect

Anita will help you design a home according to your needs.

Anita has studied interior architecture in both Estonia and Portugal. She designed the first homes already during her university studies, i.e. she has more than ten years of experience. In addition, she has improved her education in the field of art education and worked as an art teacher.

It is a great joy and honour for Anita to be a guide in creating a home. The whole process is very individual and unique, as that is the most personal space, which must be designed with the wishes and needs of each family member in mind.

Art and design are what makes Anita tick. In her free time she paints and spends a lot of time in galleries and at cultural events. Also, being in nature and observing it rejuvenates her soul.

Lennart Lind

Interior Architect

It can be said that architecture has surrounded Lennart all his life. Thanks to his grandparents who are architects and aunt who is an interior architect, he got acquainted with the nature of the field quite young. Lennart knew at an early age that he would become an interior architect. After graduating from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2017, he worked in the architecture bureau ARS Projekt, where he was involved in the design and engineering of both private and public projects.

Lennart believes that good interior architecture is quite universal and is related to the proportion of rooms, layouts and functional solutions. The interior design of the rooms, on the other hand, is much more subjective.
At Liven, he wants to create value that is a combination of the above, because without a good interior architecture solution, the design has only a decorative role in the room, and good architecture without a suitable style can only leave the home environment a bleak place.
Lennart considers continuous self-development to be crucial. Therefore, in 2018, in order to maintain his academic form, he started studying at the Tallinn School of Economics as a marketing specialist.

Walking is his form of meditation – long walks by the sea or on city streets are an important part of the daily routine. Lennart also enjoys badminton and tennis.

Carolyna Kodar

Carolyna Kodar

Interior Architect
Diploma architect (E011310)
Interior Architect (194829)

Carolyna is an interior architect who listens, thinks, and offers solutions

Carolyna graduated with a master’s degree in architecture from TalTech and is a Level 7 Chartered Interior Architect. However, formal education alone is not enough. Knowledge provides a foundation, but the real work begins with people. Conversations with future homeowners provide answers and directions that may not have been discussed in lectures or further education.

Over the years, Carolyna has worked as an interior architect in an architectural firm and a furniture company that offers complete interior solutions. She has worked on interior design and architecture for 30 different homes, including apartments, terraced houses, and houses. Each new project is a challenge because good interior design is not like a chorus in a song that keeps repeating itself. You always need to start from scratch and face the blank canvas. This is what Carolyna enjoys about her work because it is not only rewarding but also exciting.

In her free time, Carolyna spends a lot of time in nature, as the architect of nature was undoubtedly a very talented creator. Perhaps one day Carolyna will reach the same level of mastery.

Merlin Kuusemets

Merlin Kuusemets

Certified Interior Architect, Level 7 - 218964

Merlin helps you find and create your future home

She is one of those exceptions who knew from the age of 12 that she wanted to become an interior architect. At that time, she wasn’t even sure if such a profession existed. While she knew that architects design buildings, she was more interested in exploring the soul and inner world of the houses.

Even at a young age, Merlin would build homes for insects and snails using branches, moss, and leaves. Pursuing a bachelor’s and master’s degree in interior architecture was a natural development of events for her.

Every home and homeowner is unique. Unleashing and understanding the individuality of both parties is where the true essence of Merlin’s work as an interior architect begins. It only concludes when the homeowner is happy and the home harmonises with its exterior. While Merlin doesn’t dismiss or endorse any specific style, she prefers clean, straight, and proportionate lines. Her inspiration often comes from her travels abroad, where she encounters ideas and fascinating details that she can later incorporate into her work.

Time holds great importance for Merlin, and she always carefully considers how to utilise it. She spends her leisure moments exploring nature or rediscovering the gym. Any remaining time is devoted to renovating her own home and her childhood home.

Sandra Leisson

Interior Architect

Sandra feels that she became fascinated with architecture from an early age. Growing up with a father who is an architect, not a day passed without the young girl being interested in her father’s activities. After graduating from high school, she continued her studies in interior architecture.

Sandra started her professional career in 2014, immediately after finishing her university studies, designing kitchen and custom-made furniture. This was followed by five years of work experience as an interior design consultant, the keyword of daily work being direct cooperation with interior architects.

Sandra believes that the best part of her job is the immediate emotions and gratitude of the client when something is completed that started with a simple idea. Designing a room, an apartment, a private residence or public building in such a way that all parties are satisfied with the result provides the greatest feeling of achievement for Sandra.

Sandra spends her free time with her family and friends. The role of family and friends is invaluable to her.

Mirko Põder

Interior Design Manager

Mirko has been involved in furnishing since 2006, when he began his studies in Tartu as a carpenter. His senior project was a complete kitchen furniture set. Concurrently with his studies, he started working for a company that was engaged in the production of school and office furniture. Mirko went through all the stages at this company – from the production of furniture and the adjustment of the machines to their assembly and installation. Later on, he coordinated the installation teams and successfully managed public procurement projects, furnishing several schools, kindergartens, offices and even theatres.

After several years abroad and studies in the field of financial management and entrepreneurship, Mirko took on new challenges in the ranks of Standard AS, where he searched for business partners and coordinated international hotel projects, which included brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, Yotel, Scandic etc. all over the world.

Mirko believes that constantly expanding one’s horizons helps to see new connections and make better decisions both at work and in private life. Therefore, his bedside table holds books ranging from self-development and management to investment and programming.

Andero Laur

Chief Executive Officer

Andero has been involved in construction and project management since 2007. During this time he has developed over 100,000 m2 of buildings and designed more than 1000 apartments.

Andero is the kind of guy it is very difficult to truly butt heads with. Although discussions with him can sometimes get a little heated, he is rational and pragmatic by nature. His aim is to create long-term value that has an impact on people’s lifestyles and environment. He is bold enough to make big decisions and understands the long-term impact of activities.

Before founding Liven, Andero worked for 7 years at the international construction and property development company Skanska, where he started as a foreman on the construction site and ended up as a business manager on the management team.

He has a master’s degree in industrial and civil engineering from Tallinn University of Technology, and since the summer of 2022 he is studying AMDP (Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate) at Harvard University.

Alina Kester

Creative Director

Alina is the creative director of Liven, that is, she does everything that engineers don’t

A person’s professional ability mostly consists of two things. What they learned in school and what they focus on in their free time. In Alina’s case these these two sides are almost controversial.

If, based on her educational background, she is a specialist with several master’s degrees, who feels equally at home in management, marketing and service design, she devotes her free time to an almost hippyish discovering of the world.

She is no stranger to Berlin’s nightlife and Sri Lanka’s surfing culture, ascetic hiking or Alliksaar’s poetry. She has mastered several disciplines, which is the foundation for being a creative director. Only if you have enough different Lego bricks, can you create something that has never been done before.

Alina has moved to more places in her life than all Liven’s people put together. It can be concluded that she is attracted by constant forward movement. As the only exception, she has been working at Liven since 2016. If you are reading this text, she does so to this day.

Taali Laur

Marketing Manager

Taali is Liven’s Head of Marketing, and in a way, she’s responsible for everything.

Taali’s journey to Liven began in spirit when she was just 9, cutting seals in her grandfather’s garage. Now, she still has to focus on the finer details, though the big picture has come into view—it’s just a composition of all those details, after all.

In real estate, Taali considers herself an enthusiastic novice. Luckily, her colleagues are both good teachers and pleasant people. The latter is always a plus. Truthfully, this field isn’t entirely unfamiliar to her. While her friends in their teens were polishing their social media profiles, Taali was getting captivated by real estate portals instead.

She’s one of the few who will admit to peeking into people’s windows. She loves seeing how others have crafted their homes and the details they’ve chosen for their spaces.

In her free time, Taali takes walks with her dog, boxes, practices yoga, reads, or just relaxes. She very rarely does all of these at once. When it’s vacation time, she usually dusts off her shoes to explore other parts of the world and see just how dusty the streets are there.

Hanne-Lore Väin

Hanne-Lore Väin

Social Media Specialist

Hanne-Lore is responsible for sharing Liven’s stories on social media, and not just from her personal account

Being in the early stages of her career, Hanne-Lore brings a fresh perspective to the real estate industry. She has energy, and solutions, and hasn’t yet learned to say, “But that’s how it’s always been done.” This is a valuable quality.

She has graduated from the Estonian Business School with a degree in International Business Management and has further developed her knowledge in marketing in Spain, where she used to live for a while. Hanne-Lore strongly believes that marketing and creativity are closely linked, and she recognizes that creativity is heavily influenced by the environment. Therefore, having a well-designed home is essential, as well as a well-designed workplace. We spend a significant portion of our lives in both of these environments. In addition to the environment, Hanne-Lore is inspired by people who engage in activities they love and do so wholeheartedly.

While she no longer engages in horse riding on a daily basis after 12 years of training, the sport still holds a special place in Hanne-Lore’s heart.

Andres Aavik

New projects

Andres has been active in real estate development since 1997. Since then, he has developed a couple of thousand apartments, managed a number of detailed plans to their adoption and successfully completed 2 business cycles.

For Andres, family is all-important. Travelling helps him relax and appreciate the other things that are important in life. He believes that in order to survive in this rapidly developing world, you must learn and develop constantly. He works with the aim of improving both the people and the environment around him. With such an approach, what he does is not work as such…

Andres graduated from the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management at Tallinn Technical University in 1994. He then worked as the head of the Harmin Architectural Bureau and the real estate development company Maarjamäe Maja. Since 2001 he has held different positions in Skanska EMV – starting out as a project manager and working his way up to chairman of the board.

When planning projects Andres follows the principle that every apartment in a development project should be built so well that you would happily live there yourself.

Piret Männik

Piret Männik

Office Manager

Piret is responsible for Liven’s home – the office

Piret is a perfectionist, detail-oriented, and enjoys gardening. She is incredibly kind and puts her heart into everything she does. Unlike the famous lyrics, she doesn’t do everything just for herself but often for the people around her. That’s why she enjoys surprising her loved ones, creating shared memories, and providing positive experiences.

Piret isn’t afraid of problems because she firmly believes that if there’s a will, there’s a way. She is a big dreamer, and life has shown her that dreams have a way of coming true. It was her visionary dreaming that led her to Liven in the first place.

Her greatest inspiration comes from her children, who are a never-ending source of happiness. They undoubtedly bring other emotions as well, but primarily they spread joy.

Piret resembles an ant, not in terms of her physical appearance, but due to her hardworking nature and clear vision.

Märt Seeman

Construction Manager

Märt’s experience with construction management dates back to 2006. The list of objects that he has managed is quite diverse – apartment buildings, schools, a factory, a hangar, and the addition to a children’s hospital. In his work, Märt is guided by the principle that thorough preparation and planning ensure a successful final outcome.

Märt is originally from Saaremaa. He is tenacious and hard-working, traits which are common for a native of the island. A refreshing soft drink, sauna, and different types of fish are all well suited for a pleasant moment of relaxation. In addition to domestic pleasures, Märt also loves to discover more distant locales – he is especially interested in exotic natural locales and indigenous peoples.

Märt is a graduate of the Tallinn University of Technology. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Construction and Civil Engineering. He has also been awarded a Level 7 Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Martti Mettas

Construction Manager
Diploma Civil Engineer in Buildings and Structures (162276)

Martti has been a construction manager since Estonia was not yet a member of the European Union. He has overseen the building of apartments, schools, kindergartens, production buildings, power plants, infrastructures and many other things since 2004.

Martti graduated from Tallinn University of Technology and has a construction engineer diploma in his pocket. Literally. If you see him, feel free to ask.

Martti enjoys technically complex tasks and different geometric shapes. For example, one shape that Martti really likes is the golf circle. He mostly goes through it with his friends. Some of them aren’t even engineers, but that’s not the point. Martti believes that all people are good. And everything is possible.

Madis Gilden

Development Manager
Civil Engineer (E001074)

Madis graduated from Tallinn University of Applied Sciences with a degree in construction and holds a level 6 qualification in civil engineering. He has been working in the construction industry since 2007.

During this time, he has been involved in supervising zoning plans and managing designs at one of the largest design companies in Estonia, as well as at one of the largest construction companies. At Liven, Madis wants to apply his knowledge and contribute to the initial stages of the process, where decisions have the greatest impact and the opportunities to create truly valuable environments abound.

Madis keeps in shape by playing tennis. One of his greatest passions is the sea – be it sailing, fishing or just staying by the sea. He also loves traveling to far away countries. One can only benefit from traversing the world, seeking new ideas that can be applied to make life better at home.

Sander Treijar

Manager of Development Projects
Chartered Architect (192447)

Sander can be characterized by openness and the willingness to work. In addition to project management, Sander also works as an architect. Over the past ten years, he has contributed to the completion of several different award-winning projects, but his passion is primarily the design of residential buildings.

It is the versatile wealth of experience that allows Sander to approach each challenge from a unique and innovative perspective.
Sander has obtained higher education abroad and holds 7th level certificates as a certified civil engineer and an authorized architect.

At Liven, Sander’s goal is to support the creation of homes at every stage – from inception to completion. The best result relies in well-thought-out details.

Mihkel Simson

Construction Manager / Partner

Mihkel has been soaking up experience in construction management in Estonia and Finland since 2006. His portfolio includes three apartment buildings, 70 apartments and even an airport. Mihkel is fascinated by the culture of  South-East Asia and the contrasts of its big cities. For him the region is a source of inspiration and good ideas. He appreciates contemporary architecture and values brave solutions in interior design. During his free time he is often found on the golf course or tennis court honing both body and mind.Mihkel studied at Tallinn Technical University in the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management. After his second year of his studies there he joined Skanska during his summer work placement, which turned into an exciting and challenging work relationship that lasted more than eight years. During this time he participated in several interesting projects, such as the redesign of Tallinn Airport, the building of a wind park in Vanaküla and work on a sports and recreation centre in Helsinki. In recent years he has specialised in residential development and overseen the construction of three apartment buildings.

Mihkel likes the saying “What is measured improves”– Peter F. Drucker

Joonas Joost

CFO

Joonas Joost is Liven’s bloodstream or in other words the financial manager

Joonas has been dealing with analysis, financial numbers, as well as understanding and making sense of business logic for over 15 years. A bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in finance also indicate that this is not just a hobby. Listed companies on the stock exchange act as a special magnet for Joonas. Both from the outside and from the inside. For a large part of his career, he has analyzed listed companiesof the Baltic states and has also worked in a couple of the larger ones. Several business cycles have been observed. Both ups and downs.

Just like in life in general, the most important keyword for listed companies is balance. How to divide attention between the short-term and long-term perspective? How to meet the expectations of both owners and customers? What to do so that the wolves are fed, but the sheep are as well?

These are the questions that Joonas deals with. When he has figured things out, he plays basketball, board games, table tennis and the piano.

Oliver Orula

Development Project Manager

Oliver has been working in the field of construction and design since 2004. As a master’s degree recipient in industrial and civil engineering at Tallinn University of Technology, he started working as a construction designer and remained in this profession for ten years. Working as a designer, Oliver focused mainly on the design of wooden structures. Dozens of buildings have been constructed on the basis of his projects in Scandinavia, as well as in Germany, Italy and Spain. In addition to technical design work, Oliver has also held several leadership roles. He has directed various teams of engineers in businesses engaged in the design and production of wooden buildings, as well as in a real estate development company. For five years, he put himself to the test as CEO of a company engaged in the export of construction products, and he is not a stranger to sales work in the field of construction materials.
Family is of importance to Oliver with whom he spends most of his free time. On weekends, he enjoys spending time in nature and jogging in the woods in the evenings. Playing tennis with friends is also a source of pleasure for him.

He considers it important not to stay in the comfort zone, but to place himself in situations where he is forced to make an effort and learn something new.

Magnus Meldre

Magnus Meldre

IT Product Manager

Magnus improves the Home Designer tool on a daily basis

Magnus has a deep passion for problems. Problems attract him like a magnet because he enjoys finding solutions, especially when technology can be utilised to address them. This interest led him to the construction industry, where the application of technology is still rather new but holds immense potential.

Magnus developed his very first website which gained worldwide attention when he was only 13 years old. He is also one of the founders of the popular Tallinn Agile Meetup event series in the IT community. After graduating from University of Tartu with a degree in software development, Magnus has worked for various successful technology companies.

During his free time, Magnus is drawn to Spanish culture, discovering the exciting French cuisine, monitoring the US stock markets, and reading history books. As a “corona refugee,” he relocated to the summer capital of Estonia, Pärnu, and is proudly promoting the city to everyone else as well.

Taavi Konga

Taavi has been active in the construction industry since 2014. He has worked mainly in the field of housing development and construction preparation. Taavi graduated from the Estonian University of Life Sciences with a degree in rural engineering and is a certified civil engineer in the field of construction, specializing in construction management and construction assessment.

Besides work, Taavi likes to do sports and take long walks with loved ones and friends.

Ulrika Saar

Junior Architect

Ulrika likes to think that she found her way into architecture by creating and baking gingerbread houses. This eventually led her to study architecture at Tallinn University of Technology after graduating from high school.

As travelling is a great interest of hers, Ulrika has had the opportunity to participate in an internship at the Venice Biennale and she has also studied abroad as an exchange student in Austria.

Ulrika believes that the best solutions are born through collaboration and individual approach. This way, she can create homes that align with the clients’ definition of a home.

In her free time, you can find Ulrika either dancing folk dances, attending rehearsals with a wind orchestra, or taking on the role as a stage director in theatre.

Andreas Hinojosa

Junior Architect

Andreas helps Liven to create homes in Berlin

Currently, Andreas is studying architecture at the Estonian Academy of Arts, but he has been immersed in the world of architecture his entire life. The city is his comfort zone and mentor, where he feels most at home.

Fortunately, there are many cities in the world. Andreas has lived for months in Ecuador, studied in Santiago, and worked at an architecture firm in Lisbon. Although he was born in Tartu, he grew up in Tallinn. Today, with his multicultural background, Andreas helps Liven to create homes in Berlin.

Having experienced diverse ways of living, Andreas incorporates interesting and innovative details into his work. He values a carefully planned room layout, as well as emphasising the importance of cosiness and tranquillity, which allow individuals to be their authentic selves.

At Liven, Andreas strives to apply his ideas also outside of the square metres of the homes, incorporating nature as much as possible into his projects. This allows to create a dense living environment where strangers can become closer. Andreas can elaborate further on why this is important.

When Andreas gets bored of the urban environment, he takes detours into the wild, to then return to the city again.

Emil Ramon Alla

Junior Project Manager
Civil Engineer (E011818)

Emil entered the field of construction at the age of 14. That was a while ago and he wasn’t working at Liven then. He just earned pocket money in the summer. However, he began to like the field, and a few years later he graduated from Tallinn University of Technology with a higher education in construction management.

Emil is not a big fan of stress, but he is used to it. Emil always manages. He is calculating and rational, as economists think every person should be.

When Emil is not working, he is resting. For him, vacation means marathon-scale bike rides, because then you can see what engineering solutions nature has come up with. Nature always inspires.

Gerda Mesila

Construction Manager
Gerda is on maternity leave.

Gerda is on parental leave.

Gerda graduated from Tallinn University of Technology with a degree in construction management and economics. She has been working in construction and real estate development since 2014. While working for a development company, Gerda has contributed to the construction of over 400 apartments.

The comfort and quality of the apartments are very important to Gerda. Before construction begins, solutions and the general concept of the building must be thought out so that the apartment owner can move into a home. She is particularly pleased that she can contribute to the quality of the buildings.

Gerda likes to start her day with a morning workout. Her goal is to travel with her family to as many different countries as possible and to experience and discover something new on each trip.

Liven creates homes

Liven has operated as a residential real estate developer since 2014. More than 700 homes have been created during this time, and today nearly 1500 homes are currently in different stages of development.

We are different

We have carefully considered spatial programme, stylish interior and various choices for customer not only in design but in the apartment layouts as well.

Simplicity and focus

It is easy to deal with us because we are focused. Liven’s business is creating homes and making sure they are worthy of being called that. Everything else good in this world is the business of someone else.

We used to live in the city center, and our walks would take us along Liivalaia Street. Here, we can enjoy nature, the forest, and the sea. The biggest difference is that it’s much calmer here, and it’s also much better for our child.

What I really love the most is that when I want to go for a run, I just step outside and start running. And since we have a small baby, if I need to go for a walk, I grab the stroller and step outside. Maybe saying there are a million directions is an exaggeration, but I can go anywhere, and in fact, the city center is right here at my fingertips.

Probably the most difficult part for us was choosing whether to create a bar counter or a dining table for the kitchen, because somehow a bar counter might have been better, but the dining table was definitely the right choice for us.
