Liven’s Inspirational Trip to the Mikkeli Housing Fair

The world-renowned Finnish Housing Fair, which took place in Mikkeli this time, is an annual grand event that everyone with a greater interest in architecture and interior design should visit. Naturally, the team from Liven was also present on the beautiful shores of Lake Saimaa, where they noticed many exciting things and gathered plenty of inspiration for both ongoing and yet to be planned homes.

As usual, the scene on-site was diverse. There were bold solutions that seemed to come from a distant future, as well as architecturally more classical homes that stood out with their Scandinavian-inspired functionality and clever designs.

“Techniques, solutions and details that are not so popular in Estonia were also noticed.”

Of course, Finland is a country of saunas, and this shone through in almost all exhibits. This Nordic washroom had been treated with the respect it deserved, which means that the sauna and its accompanying rooms were very, very well resolved in all projects. In the case of several houses, the sauna also extended onto the terrace. This is in the form of a jacuzzi, where in addition to relaxation, you can also enjoy great views.

While in general everything was more or less great, there were also techniques, solutions and details that were not so popular in Estonia. The best example of the last statement is probably the excessive use of wood, which eventually reduces even the most beautiful living room to the front room of a sauna.

But because one picture is supposed to say more than a thousand words, we invite you to take a look at the picture gallery from the exciting Mikkeli housing fair.
